FEIN / TAX ID NUMBER

An FEIN (Federal Employee Identification Number) also known as TAX ID NUMBER is needed if you have employees.

It is easy to get and it is free on irs' website. It is used to 'id' a business to the IRS for W4 and W2 forms just as a social security number is used to 'id' an employee on those same forms.

In addition, it is used to establish a bank account in your company name.

People with bad credit and criminal records start businesses(with no intention of actually doing anything with them), obtain Tax ID Numbers just to get things their bad name and criminal record will not let them get.

Like a cell phone

And....so they can pretend they are working on something- 'cause they are unemployed.

So, when somebody says;"What do you do?" they can mention the name of the company and it sounds so important.

But nothing is being worked on. Especially if it is the second business. Because once you have actually worked to start one business---the 2nd, 3rd, 4th businesses are easier than the first. It does not take long to get going.

Mi Hermanas!

Mrs. Shavon Gonzalez and Mrs. Rachel Perez,
Two Godly wives whom I've had the pleasure of befriending, who mentored me on how to be a wife and a mother and how to notice the fruit (evidence, prosperity) of a husband of God who provides for his family

or

lack of fruit from an ungodly husband who does not provide.

I am the Queen

  • I wish some man would propose to me and not already have a plan for me and my kids
  • I wish some man would propose to me and not prepare a home for his new family
  • I wish some man would propose to me and tell me I got to go back to my folk’s house to live
  • I wish some man would propose to me and tell me he will be my husband and will live with his mom
  • I wish some man would propose to me and tell me he is not going to work--I’ll provide for the family
  • I wish some man would propose to me and I can not have my fab wedding like I am supposed to have
  • I wish some man would propose to me and tell me he will be a full-time student & not support his family

You have to be a special kind of stupid and desperate to accept or even entertain that proposal

My standards are high and...then again everybody can’t be Queen!

Since I am the prize
(A child-free, chaste, woman of God)

that proposal is unacceptable--a better offer is required for me.

Ladies: lower your skirts and raise your standards.

Women Business

Between 1997 and 2002, women-owned firms grew by 19.8 percent while men U.S. firms grew by seven percent. Women-owned firms' employment increased by 30 percent—1½ times the men rate—and sales grew by 40 percent—the same rate as men-owned firms in the U.S.

Between 1997 and 2004, the number of privately held firms owned by women of color grew by 54.6 percent. Meanwhile, the overall number of firms in the United States grew by only 9 percent over this period. Women's business ownership is up among all groups, but the number of Hispanic (up 63.9 percent) and Asian owned firms (69.3 percent) has grown especially fast. An estimated one in five (21 percent) women-owned businesses are owned by women of color.

Across the world, women-owned firms typically comprise between one quarter and one-third of the business population.

According to 2002 data, significant proportions of women-owned businesses were in professional, scientific, and technical services, and in health care and social assistance.

Women-owned businesses are as financially sound and creditworthy as the male-owned firms in the U.S. economy,
and women start-ups are more likely to remain in business than the men start-up firms.

Since 1987, the number of women-owned firms in the U.S. has doubled, employment has increased four-fold and their revenues have risen five-fold.

Between 1997 and 2002, the number of women-owned businesses with more than 100 employees rose by 44 percent.

Women hold 13.6 percent of board seats at Fortune 500 companies. The number of seats held by women of color has increased from 2.5 percent in 1999 to 3 percent in 2003. Of the Fortune 500, 54 companies have 25 percent or more women directors in 2003.

Women comprise 46.6 percent of the U.S. labor force, 50 percent of the managerial and professional specialty positions.

Teddy is A Genius

This blogging has really turned out to be grand.

It has opened many doors and given us a lot of exposure, resources and connections.

It was and is a genius of an idea.

So much so I wish it was my idea.

The idea came from my

brother, (in Christ) Tederick(Teddy)Young.

Teddy is a genius

(He is also an author...but you have to wait on that)

Effective Management

Simply put,
an effective social enterprise
uses resources
(humans,materials and money)
to address the company goals.

It cannot simultaneously create problems within the organization by causing a sense of injustice among the employees and membership base.

Communication must be considered valuable.
The employees and membership base must present themselves available for communication.

Lack of communication is an immature business strategy.

...In addition, the employees and membership base should not be pit against one another.

It is a loser's strategy for business.

It always back-fires.

A Beautiful Thing

Forgiveness is a wonderful thing.
It allows you to do and be things you thought you could not.

Like, work with one-time-friends and business partners who have hurt and betrayed you in business and in
life(which is more important).

STARTING VS RUNNING

Understand: the task of running a business requires different skills than the task of starting a business.

Anybody can start a business.

Only a few can manage one.
